An incomparable original Mercedes 180b “Ponton” with a stainless condition of bodywork, chassis and all attachments. Produced in the “Werk” Mechelen, Belgium. Sold new to a couple in Brussels on March 23, 1960 by garage Paul E. Cousin s.a. Completely lubricated with Vaseline and garage parked in 1981, discovered in 2019.
The technical re-experience of the Ponton is fully documented and carried out with respect for originality. The engine, brake and cooling system as well as the carburetor were completely overhauled, new Vredestein Classic tires fitted.
The unprecedentedly thin, largely original paintwork shows minimal traces of use, is still beautifully shiny, only the patina on the roof is mention worth. Beautiful and almost untouched interior, seats were always protected by covers, immaculate condition of the Bakelite door and dashboard coverings. The chrome parts have visibly benefited from the Vaseline treatment, are in beautiful condition. Only the bumpers have a few dents and scratches.
Floor and chassis have been professionally cleaned and sealed with a clear coating. Our comprehensive photo reportage shows the rust-free and original condition of the by this series well-known critical places.
