Bought as a real “barn find”, this Volkswagen Scirocco 1.6 S from the first Belgian owner with an original mileage of only 19.744 Km. Barn-stored since the end of 1998, in the mid-2000s seen daylight again because of participation in a classic car fair. This Karmann spent the last years on top of a defective lift, found completely in the first paint.
Optically completely brought back to its former glory, still largely in factory paint. Spot repair carried out due to a parking dent on the left door, bumper cover repainted just below the license plate due to a small paint damage, both front fenders partly repaired and only partly repainted at the level of the sill, rear bumper dented out and re-chromed. Of course, everything is photo documented.
Beautiful original interior, with the minimalist rubber floor covering, undamaged headliner, undamaged dashboard, hat shelf and door panels. Optionally fitted with the sought-after Volkswagen sports steering wheel, “Spuckennapflenkrad”. Original front window including sticker with the drive-in instructions, unused spare wheel.
Technically fully serviced, brake system overhauled, exhaust (NOS), shock absorbers, timing belt and water pump replaced, Pirelli Classic tires mounted on steel 5.5jX13 rims. The present original sales invoice from ETN. Alois Verellen in Geel shows the new price of Bfr. 224,000. Instruction booklet, maintenance book, showing the stamp of the last service done in May 1996 at 15.000 km, the last inspection certificate issued on May 25, 1998 are present.
Beautiful Scirocco from the first owner, hardly to be found in this rust-free and unrestored condition.
