This Mercedes 280SE comes from the first Italian owner, Seniore Giovannini Eraldo from Roasio, born in April 1915. Brilliant and rare color combination, powerfully motorized with the 180HP strong 2800cc engine coupled to a manual gearbox. Purchased from the heiress, garage kept since the late 1990s. Perfectly preserved example, visibly spared from bad weather conditions. Technically correct and extensively maintained: petrol tank, fuel pump, shock absorbers all around, main brake and clutch cylinders and exhaust renewed, correct Michelins were fitted. Of course, all fluids were also changed, the braking system including brake calipers were overhauled and fitted with new hoses.
The extremely strong and wear-resistant MB-Tex interior is still in perfect condition after almost 129.000 km. Undamaged dashboard and wood applications, spot-free headliner, door panels and parcel shelf saved from aftermarket speakers. The largely original paint catch the eye, minimal stone chips would be the only thing to notice. Only the bonnet, the driver’s door under the molding and both sills were once repainted. Stainless trunk with new “new old stock” rubber floormat. Optionally poorly equipped, only 4 electric windows, with the in my opinion beautiful switches, and central door locking were ordered. Even a radio was dispensed with.
