Sensationally preserved Lada Niva 1600 4X4 coming out of one German family ownership. By Herr. Schrader senior purchased new at the end of 1978 from the then British-Leyland and Lada dealer Autohaus Wolfgang Dohn in Osterode / Harz. Former new price DM. 15.600, –. After delivery in January 1979, one of the first in Germany, the Niva was protected against rust by the owner himself, with which the basis was laid for the still wonderful, original condition. In December 2004, after Herr. Schrader senior passed away, the registration was transferred to Herr. Schrader junior in order to deregister, with a then mileage of approximately 19.000, on February 10, 2005 for a period of 4 years. Recently purchased by us from Herr. Schrader junior. The bodywork is completely, except for a small spot-repair under the windshield, in the factory paint. The interior can be said to be absolutely spotless. The condition of the cleaned chassis and undercarriage, featured in our photo report, will surprise many. Technically perfect and still maintained. We have just completed a maintenance service in which the shock absorbers all around and the tires have been replaced.
The history and mileage are perfectly demonstrable by the present, original vehicle registration (Fahrzeugbrief), the maintenance booklet and numerous inspection certificates. A nice bonus is that the leading German classic car magazine Motor Klassik (part of Auto Motor und Sport) published a 6-page article on this specific Niva and its history in the 10/2009 issue. An original copy of the magazine is included in the existing documentation. The bag with all the on-board tools, the light with plug for the cigarette lighter are present, the spare wheel is original and unused.
Enthusiast/collectors example from the first series with the beautiful details that were completely lost in the later versions in a desirable and typical 1970s color scheme. Unique and unreplaceable.
