Mercedes 300D W124 from first owner with an original mileage of only 28.485 kilometers. Newly delivered in Belgium by Mercedes-dealer Etn. Hermans N.V. in Hasselt to Mr. Carlens, also residing in Hasselt. The condition of the MB-Tex interior, the mostly original paintwork, and the entire chassis is excellent. According to the first owner, no parts of the car were ever repainted; however, our paint thickness meter indicates that the hood, trunk lid, and left front door were at some point given a new coat of paint. Visibly, we cannot confirm this, as there is no texture or color difference, the paint thickness shows maximum of 220-240 microns. We had the middle part of the roof repainted due to paint damage caused by a leak in the garage roof where the Mercedes spent most of the last 24 years.

On the day of delivery, Mr. Carlens had the tires mounted on non-original “Gulli Deckel” alloy wheels; fortunately, the unused steel rims and hubcaps were carefully preserved. We fitted them with new Michelins and reinstalled them. The alloy wheels with the original first tires, which attest to the low mileage, have been preserved and will be included.
The original purchase invoice mentioning the then-new price of no less than BFr. 1.389.163 and the maintenance book with Data Card are present. The last technical inspection, with a mileage of 27.028 kilometers, took place on May 11, 2000. After that, the Mercedes was hardly used. We have just extensively maintained the 124; the braking system has been fully overhauled, and all fluids and filters have been replaced. We greatly enjoyed a test drive of over 150 kilometers through the Limburg hills.
