The “Holy Grail” of the legendary Toyota Celica TA22: a 1.6GT DOHC in an incomparable, irreplaceable condition, and to top it off, coming from its second Italian owner. Originally delivered in Mestre, Veneto, Italy by the then-official Toyota dealer Mario Bacchin to Signore Crosara Mario. The original service booklet, a copy of the Libretto, the toolkit pouch, and the unused spare wheel are all present.
The condition of the bodywork is exceptional, rust- and accident-free, never restored, let alone welded. The entire authentic interior, including the undamaged dashboard with the original radio, door panels, carpets, and the semi leather front and rear seats, is second to none, showing hardly any signs of use. At the time of our purchase, the Celica still wore its original factory paint. However, due to numerous paint imperfections, the presence of rear side marker lights, evidence of a previously mounted spoiler on the trunk lid, and a non-original left side mirror, we decided to completely strip the bodywork to bare metal and repaint the exterior. The door jambs, trunk, and engine bay were left in their original paint.
Technically, an extensive service has been done: the engine has been newly sealed, the suspension disassembled, cleaned, and repainted, and the chassis and underbody were cleaned by dry ice blasting and treated with a clear wax coating. A complete photo report documenting the work performed, documenting the original condition, and many unique details such as the factory-installed brake pads, brake shoes, and clutch is available.
Once in a lifetime condition; to call it unique in this case is an understatement.
